This past week, Kelly and I were in Brooklyn for the ExpressionEngine CodeIgniter conference. We had a great time, met some awesome people, and I got to talk about my favorite topic: progressive enhancement.

Retreat, remembered
As many of you know, we officially launched our new training series, Retreats 4 Geeks, with a HTML5 & CSS3 retreat co-led by Eric Meyer and me. The event was held in an amazing cabin on the side of a mountain in Gatlinburg, TN and, as you can probably guess, it was downright magical.

Tell me if this sounds familiar: “HTML5 and CSS3 do not have enough browser support to start using them today.” Or, how about this one: “We still have to support IE6, so using advanced CSS techniques would be a wasted effort.”

Touchdown…
Kel and I landed in Austin, TX this afternoon. We’re here for SXSWi. It’s like an annual pilgrimage. Molly calls it “geek camp,” but I think of it more as a time to actually see the people I spend so much time with virtually.
