We’re very excited to announce that our flagship training series, Retreats 4 Geeks, is returning in 2011! We’ll be kicking things off April 8th with 3 days of HTML5 and CSS3 with Eric Meyer and our own Aaron Gustafson.
This year, we’ll be doing things a little differently. First, we’re offering retreat attendees access to not one, but two incredibly talented web professionals. Plus, we’ve added a third day to the schedule where attendees will practice what they’ve learned by working on an actual project under the guidance of our exceptional instructors. (And since we geeks like to give back, the project workshop will benefit a local nonprofit.) We hope these changes will give attendees more opportunities to have their questions answered and really engage with the instructors.
Not everything is changing though. We are still adamantly committed to keeping our class sizes small (as in around 15). We firmly believe that a small student-teacher ratio helps ensure that our retreat attendees get the most out of the experience and leave with a head full of practical knowledge, rather than one reeling with unanswered questions.
We’re also sticking with a unique, inspiring venue that helps our attendees step away from their day-to-day distractions and focus on learning. Our Spring event will be hosted in a luxury lodge on the side of a mountain in Gatlinburg, TN. It’s chock full of amenities (yes, including wi-fi), and we’ll have our own in-house chef whipping up fresh, organic meals and snacks to keep the group well-fueled for the entirety of the event.
If this sounds like your kind of training, we hope you’ll consider joining us this April. For more details on the event, you can visit the Retreats 4 Geeks website or download the PDF fact sheet for this retreat. And keep an eye out for more Retreats 4 Geeks coming later this year!
